4 Places to Volunteer for Thanksgiving in Orlando

Thanksgiving isn't just a time to give thanks for what you have, but also a time to share your fortune and goodwill with others. This year, consider lending your time to one of these organizations. Each of them works to make a difference in the lives of others around this special holiday, and with just a little help, they can do a lot of good.

The United Way of Central Florida

The Tuesday before Thanksgiving, UWCF is hosting an event with their partner, Good Shepherd Hospice, called the annual Lights of Remembrance event. They're in need of people to help set up chairs and tables so that people can gather and move through their grief together during this holiday.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida

Thousands of people throughout Florida help this organization as they strive to eliminate hunger in Central Florida. Visit their website to see what their current opportunities are and how you can volunteer time or money.

Hands on Orlando

Although their Thanksgiving Dinner event is currently at its max number of volunteers, you can still look into helping Hands On provide food and assistance to communities. Throughout the year, they do everything from making meals for the homeless to planting trees.

3rd Annual Homeless Thanksgiving Banquet

The Homeless Banquet team needs your help serving meals to at least 200 homeless residents. They'll also be running a resource expo, a clothing giveaway, entertainment, and a kids zone, so they need all of the volunteer help they can get.
